O Crime do Padre Amaro
This is a Portuguese movie that delivers less than it promises. There are some hot scenes, but nothing that relevant. The story is, in fact, a small number of stories that, by chance, has a common character. And just one of those stories is relevant.
I never read the book but I am sure it is a lot better than the movie. I just added it to my queue of books to read. In two or three years I might get to it. With luck.
Now, talking about quality, I can’t understand how a recent movie (2005 is not that old) has such bad audio recording. The authors do not know how to speak, or the technicians do not know how to record. But this seems a major problem on lot of Portuguese productions. Very bad, indeed…
Game of Thrones
Probably this isn’t the screenshot you should be expecting for Game of Thrones. But for the screenshot you are expecting you wouldn’t visit this blog. What can I say about this season? Well, if you already watched it, you know the more dramatic episode is the ninth. If you didn’t watch it yet, you should also know the more dramatic episode is the ninth.
Regarding the story, it didn’t evolve much after the previous season. Well, except for the ninth episode. Other than that, things went kind of smoothly.
The final of the season is not as extraordinary as the first season (hope I am not confusing seasons), but not bad as well.
Here we are, waiting for the next one.
More of the same. Different jokes, new boobs, still focused on sex. But a fun movie. And if it wasn’t for the movie… Oh, my God.
If you like other American Pie movies, worth watching. Namely, if you watched them earlier so you can check some references to previous movies. I could detect a couple, but probably there are more. If not, well, it is a pair of fun hours.
Zosia Mamet @ Girls
So, I finally completed the process of watching Girls, the first season. And I will probably watch the second season as well. It is not an interesting series, to say the truth. Some small interesting scenes, but that is all. Nevertheless, there are some girls. The subject of the series: girls, boyfriends, sex, drug, alcohol, more sex, gays, lesbians, more drug, more sex, fights between girls, and it continues like that.
Girls (2012) - Episode 1
Not much I can say about this show. Not sure why I watched it. No idea if I ever will watch another episode. But now that I’ve watched the first episode, I can blog a little about it. Girls series, probably. Girls, boyfriends, sex, drugs and living on your parents for money. Enough? Ok, some humor scenes.
From time to time I find a French erotic movie, and I need to watch it. They are different from what people usually call pornography. Here you don’t have sex, you have erotism. In this case, it is not properly a movie, but a sequence of four stories (the four Contes Immoraux), that include two woman/man story, one woman masturbation story, and a lesbian story. It also includes quite references to religion (Catholic), and priests, and pope. So, if you are easily scandalized with priests or the pope performing sex, don’t watch the movie. Although I did not like equally the four stories, I voted 7/10 at IMDB.
Game of Thrones - Season 1 Finale
First, yes, probably. I know some of you want me to read the books (first or instead). I am sorry to disappoint, but it is too late to read them first or instead, and I am not sure if I will read them at all. That will be another issue.
Now, on this series comment: violence, violence, blood, violence, boobs, violence, violence, blood, violence, boobs. The good thing is that the ratio of boobs is good enough to keep watching. Yes, I am half kidding. Sometime the series betray us. We are too used to the Hollywood movie type, where heroes do not die. Here, everybody die. When you think somebody will stand up, he will die. When you think somebody will die, yes, surely he will die.
Something that is clear from the first episode but starts being more and more clear, and completely clear in the last episode of the first season, is that we should not be relating the story with our past, with the medieval era, or something. This is not just a fiction series, but mostly, a fantasy series.
Now, ready for the second season.
The Wayward Cloud
I do not have any idea how I end up seeing these movies. They are just too bad. So bad that I end up without no certain about how the story developed (a problem I have is that all Chinese people seem similar to me). I had to go check the plot and synopsis on IMDB to be sure I understood the movie correctly.
Well, I think that after this review you will not watch the movie anyway. In any case, I prefer not to tell the story. Just tell you that are some bad sex scenes (so, this would be a bad porn movie), with probably the exception of the first one (shown above). There are too many still scenes, with minutes where nothing.. yes, nothing happens. The movie seems to be a silent film, where only news from the TV or radio are listened (there are a few more sentences from the main authors, but they are rare). Also, the director tried to make it also a musical, with some intermezzos of musical-like singing and dancing. Some of the musics have some rhythm, but the lyrics and the dancing is tremendous bad.
I pondered for some times not to write any review at all, and not vote on IMDB. Well, I voted because I like to keep track of the movies I watch (then, 1/10 was my vote) and I am blogging just to make sure nobody wastes an hour an half watching this movie…
Game of Thrones
The first thing that come to my mind to describe this first episode is, sex, violence and sex. Not bad. Just one episode is not enough to tell what the story is. So far, the usual medieval thing, kings, fights, interest marriages, etc. Given the name of the series, and this first episode, it seems that will be the story. A standard medieval story.
But then, there are some interesting things. Not just the pretty girls, the boobs or the sex. But having some kind of tribe that kills people in a way Dexter would like to do, is cool. Now, let us see the next episodes, for a final season review.
Vampires Suck (2010)
Yes, I went to the movie theater knowing what to expect from the movie. I knew it was some kind of Scary Movie but, instead of having horror as the central point, having vampires. And it could be a good source of ideas, as at the moment there are lots of series about vampires. Probably I did not understand some of the jokes because I do not watch them. Oh well.
The movie sucks. No story, no intelligent jokes. Just stupidity. Of course it make me laugh. We laugh of stupidity often. In fact, we laugh of people falling and injuring themselves (just look to the usual Fail videos on the Internet).
Scary Movie movies had at least two or three nice looking actresses, and a lot of sexual jokes. Vampires Suck just has Jenn Proske (she is a really cutie, let me tell you) and the amount of sexual jokes is not really relevant.
