The thing I stated yesterday in my previous post is undoubtedly true. It is enough to read some comments about Pixels, and being a 80’s geek. The movie might not be great. But the retro approach, the old games, the pixelated stuff, is enough for liking the movie. Even if there are some stupid jokes, and some bad decisions. If you love PacMan, if you played Centipede, if you broke some tiles with Arkanoid, if you crossed streets with Frog, you will likely like this movie.

Watching a movie catalogued as a great one is always a big problem. Either you share the ideas of the people who liked the movie, or you will hate it. And just like people loved “Lost in Translation” and I hated it, I did not like as well this one. I see it very alike to “Lost in Translation”, where a cute girl explains why I watched until the end. With the bonus of having Maria Schneider nude. But still, couldn’t give more than 2 in 10 at IMDB.
No idea why so much talking about Noah. I am sure it was not because of Emma Watson, not so good acting. Also, the computer graphics are quite messy. I know the director and writer built from the Bible story, and added their own ideas to the plot. But the story would allow for so much more… and if in the Bible some issues are not explained, and do not make sense, is this movie a lot of other were added. Why the watchers? Were them really needed? Sorry, did not like. 3 in 10 for me.
Just another crappy movie. Fishing Naked has nothing, or almost nothing to do with fishing or naked. It is about Big Foot and this strange creature you can see above. The story is not interesting, the pace of the movie is too slow, and without any real interest. No idea why I downloaded it in the first place. Took about a month to complete it. Crap.
American Mary is a horror movie that could be tricky to watch if I didn’t had a degree on grotesque with Hannibal series. So, yeah, expect grotesque. More grotesque than blood, more grotesque than horror itself.
I can’t say the movie is great. But as some good moments. For those, the 6 I gave at IMDB. But for that classification I was forgetting some veeerryyyy slooooww scenes that are not needed to get in the right mood. A little less would be enough.
If you like grotesque, if you like to see a cute girl in blood, then this might be for you. But be warned.
Not much to say about the movie. A romantic comedy, and no, the romance was not between Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. It is a fund movie to watch. a few slow scenes, but mostly enjoyable to watch.
Also was interesting to see Adam DeVine out of Modern Family, and Andrew Rannells out of Girls. And those who know me, know that the fact of having Anne Hathaway around made me stick. Yes, she is very cute.
Much better than the latest Madagascar movie. Of course it is full of non-sense. But it doesn’t try to be a Drama or a Romance. It is just non-sense with full of good laughs. The penguins are great. Great. And the jokes appear one after the other, at a velocity it is very difficult to grasp all of them.
One of the best quotes: “Nicholas! Cage them!” Lovely. 8 in 10 @ IMDB.
The worst one of the trilogy. If there is a reason to watch it until the end, the reason is the beautiful Catherine Zeta-Jones. Other than that, the story is not interesting, the way it is presented is not the best, and some issues are not very clear. The third followed the approach of the first, making it a success. So, if I had to suggest anyone to watch Ocean’s trilogy, I would, doubtful, suggest to skip this one. Yeah, just 4 in 10 at IMDB.
Seen Ocean’s Thirteen a lot of time ago. And a lot of time to see this one, and the Twelve too. And I am sorry I took to much. The movie is just great. The same kind of way to tell the story as the Thirteen, but anyway, entertaining, fun, with action. Great cast, although I am not a fan of Brad Pitt. Anyway, great. 8 in 10 @ IMDB.
Not much to say about the movie. Half the cast are mummies, and I am not sure how they can still move. The new expendables (see the movie for the definition of new) aren’t bad ass as other expendables on previous movies. Jason Statham is mostly hidden. Mel Gibson as some class. Harrison Ford has some nice shots, too. Other than that, see the movie for the usual explosions, shots and fights. Other than that, a couple of humorous quotes. Ah… and Antonio Banderas is just crazy on this movie. At some point it gets really boring to listen to. And yeah, I know it is deliberate. Voted 6 in 10.
To finish, a small quote I liked:
Barney Ross: Better get out of that seat and move to the back, Christmas is coming.
Galgo: But it’s only June…
