If you like previous incarnations of Fast and Furious, then you will probably like this sequel. They lost the “fast” in the title but there are still some nice fast scenes. Nevertheless, I think the non-sense part of cars flying, special maneuvers, etc, is quite limited in this sequel, with a little more punch scenes. But not bad. Oh, and instead of flying cars this time they preferred to make flying people.
So, do not watch this movie if you like to rationalize. Watch it letting it go, let the strange and fantastic scenes be as if they were possible. Or that, or you will not enjoy the movie.
Regarding the story, nothing new. The usual story. Not just the usual story from Fast and Furious, but if you take the main story, and generalize it, you will find dozens and dozens of other movies with the same story. But then, that is how Hollywood works. So, just enjoy a new incarnation of a known story.
Well, now some small spoilers: it is a shame Gisele (Gal Gadot) dies (or at least is seems), and well as Han. But probably they were not interested in the sequel (yes, prepare for Fast and Furious 7), and they needed to disappear somehow.
In the other hand, I can’t not talk about Jason Statham. Yeah, he is not part of the story, but part of the finale. Wait for him on Fast and Furious 7. Now, just curious if just as a bad guy (I’m not used to it) or if he somehow turns on being part of the crew.
Milla Jovovich @ Resident Evil: Retribution
Fifth movie from the series. Ten years after the first movie. Some more from the original game. And Milla Jovovich still in good shape (as you can check above). In fact I chose that image because I found the.. erm.. dress, quite interesting.
Regarding the movie, no big story. Nevertheless, the small part of the big Resident Evil story that this movie fills, is told in a compelling way. Of course there are some faults on the story, and being it sci-fi, some other details that are not faults by themselves, but that you need to agree with, or the movie wouldn’t be possible.
Anyway, and sorry for the little spoiler, I just loved to watch the bullets getting disposed from Rain (Michelle Rodriguez) by their fingers. Just cool.
And of course, do not expect this to be the last from the series. It will continue. You can check a new entry in IMDB, but also, you can watch this fifth movie, and you’ll understand it couldn’t end this way.
- Machete, 2010
For those who already watched Machete, yes, I could resist and not post here one of the girls. For those who didn’t see the movie yet, I can name Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Alicia Rachel Marek, Ara Celi, Electra Avellan and, of course, Mayra Leal that I mistook by Eva Mendes. If this isn’t enough to make you see the movie, then I should tell it is fun, lot of fun! Also, it is violent. Lots of violence and blood. But who cares?
