Again, taking the Christmas holidays to see some movies in the TV. I had this in my to-see list for some time, as I found the plot idea interesting. And I can say the movie delivers it. Of course it is a typical Hollywood plot, with all ending well, and with the main characters surviving everything. But you are expecting it from the beginning. Some details remember me of Get Smart series, like the gun locker hidden in the oven. Nice to watch and laugh.
Yep, the first Portuguese series that I comment here, at the end of a season. This is a comedy, a little unrealistic on some points, but lots of fun. Also, it has some nice girls, and show nice food. And I always liked cooking shows, so, why not join them? The only sad thing is that Benedita Pereira’s character reminds me of someone… that does not know of my existence, unless in real need of computer services. Sad!
Not much to say about the movie. A romantic comedy, and no, the romance was not between Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. It is a fund movie to watch. a few slow scenes, but mostly enjoyable to watch.
Also was interesting to see Adam DeVine out of Modern Family, and Andrew Rannells out of Girls. And those who know me, know that the fact of having Anne Hathaway around made me stick. Yes, she is very cute.
This is that kind of series that go in a crescendo. At the beginning it was kind of slow, with an episode-based story, mostly on S.H.I.E.L.D. (God, that is tiresome to write) agents working. Then a bigger story is formed, curiously, joining some of the different stories that were told before. At the end, a big crescendo and a great season finale.
The, you have action, your have scifi (a lot), you have girls for every taste, and a lot of humor. And if that is not enough, you have Skye, a sexy… erm… E.T.
In case you need a motivation to watch this movie, probably the picture above is enough. And I will not comment more on that in this post… well, that will be difficult…
Now, on the movie, the plot is interesting enough. Flaws? Probably lots of them. I did not really though on that while watching. If you know you are watching a Sci-Fi movie, let it go, and trust it. Do not try to rationalize. Of course, some inconsistencies can make a movie worst. But although some can exist on Lucy, I do not think they ruin anyhow the movie.
Also, the “National Geographic”-like interrupts are, somehow, interesting, although annoying on specific parts. Nevertheless, an 8/10@IMDB. Scalett’s fault too, right.
Not much to say about the story, as it is an old, old story, you watched over and over again in different movies. Also, not much to say on the plot quality (as in, is the story at least coherent?). So, what made me watch it till the end?
First, is has some good jokes. Yeah, not that many. But a few that are enough to entertain you. Second, because of the girls, and mostly important, Lindsey Shaw that is very, very cute, and Katie Sarife, also cute. Cassie Scerbo is not ugly or anything, but appears as the standard barbie-style, that is now mostly annoying.
And although it might seems weird, voting 6/10, more than Madagascar 3 madness.
The guy (Ted) is cute and fluffy. Mila Kunis is hot. Laura Vandervoort appears a few times, and she is also hot. Other than that, the movie is… bah… watchable. Some nice jokes, but some other are just forced, making no sense whatsoever. Ah, and Patrick Stewart is A BOSS as narrator.
I confess I am not sure why I continue watching this show. Not really because of the girls, because the ones that do top-less or complete nudes are not really that cute. Not really because of the main story, as it is not that interesting. Probably because of the complete madness of actions of the characters. Probably. Not sure if I’ll continue through season 5, but probably. Ah, also, the episodes are quite small, from 25 to 30 minutes, and that is cool.
In case you had some doubts, you can see here a good reason for me to continue watching this series. I confess it is still fun, but the kind of jokes are getting boring. Thankful, now Raj has a hot redhead girlfriend with a creepy sense of humor. Just love her. And no, if she continues in the next series I will post her here. For this time, you get enough with Penny.
