And the seventh is out there, and it seems eighth is on its way. What can I say? More of the same. Good to watch if you are in the mood, if you like speed, girls and punches. A little difficult for me to see Jason Statham as the bad guy. Other than that, cool. And, of course, Nathalie Emmanuel is very, very cute.
No need to comment on the hacking stuff, and mistakes or impossible stuff. You do not see a movie for that. Also, of course, lots of publicity. Other than the cars, at least Dell and Monster. Whatever.
Finally, a good homage to Paul Walker. I confess I got sentimental.
The Flying Nun
For some time that I did not laugh so loud with Allo Allo. You know, after season 1 you get more of “Good Moaning”, or “Listen carefully, as I shall say this only once”, or even “It is I, LeClerc”. Although the story did not change much, I confess I have been laughing really hard in this season (specially episode “The Flying Nun” and “The Jet-Propelled Mother-In-Law”). Just great. Preparing for the next season, the biggest, with more than 20 episodes.
Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting
Just finished the seventh season of The Big Bang Theory. Yes, indeed, more of the same, but still fun. The kind of jokes is mostly the same, but the story evolves. Even Sheldon kisses a girl , and Raj gets sex with a cute girl. The other two continue with their own blondes.
Some time ago I read somewhere, somebody complaining with this series, arguing it does not have any more fun, and that jokes are now offending. I do not agree. The jokes are the same since the beginning. But some people will laugh on others believes, religion or race, but will be angry when the joke changes to their own believes, religion or race. But no, The Big Bang Theory has, from time to time, a little on that kind of jokes (from the beginning on Blondes, a lot on Indians, a little on Black People, more recently on Christians) but the most interesting ones continue to be the geek ones. And just for the record, on this discussions on jokes, I am a Christian and can laugh with Christian jokes.
But yea, Kaley Cuoco (now -Sweeting) is also a good reason to continue watching this series.
Fun! I read the trilogy in five volumes (yeah, I read that joke somewhere) a lot of time ago, even before the movie. So, before 2005. But this long I am looking forward to watch it, and finally I did. It was very fun to remember the book story, to recognize the character names, to remember the story of our planet as a computer (yep, it is).
Well, before some other comments, let me just say that Zooey Deschanel is extremely cute in this movie.
Getting back to the movie, also nice to remember the origin of “babelfish”. It is a shame that the current babelfish (.com) lost all connection to the story of its name. Search for old babelfish, from Altavista, to remember the interface, and the babelfish reference.
No, I will not talk much about the 42, or the Ultimate Question about the Universe and Everything. Just that if you want a proper answer, never forget to prepare your question with caution.
And finally, what can I say? Just like the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, DON’T PANIC!
Leonard being a Show Off
When all the four geeks get a “girlfriend”, my auto-esteem goes down. Anyway, Penny continues brilliant, Sheldon continues unsupportable, Leonard the same guy, and Raj gets even more feminine (wait for the last episode). Amy is great, and her face expressions are even better than Leonard or Sheldon ones. No big news on this season, other than the new girlfriend.
And, finally, somehow I understand why some people said TBBT was getting too offensive. I understand but I do not agree. We should know to deal with our history. It can be difficult, but we should.
Kaley Cuoco as Penny
I though on publishing a photo on the wedding (sorry, spoiler alert, but I won’t say whose), but after this picture popped in my screen I had no doubt I should publish Kaley Cuoco again. Oh, how I like that girl…
Talking about this season, the usual kind of story, but still fun. Now with some girlfriends around. This makes me think… even Sheldon has a girlfriend. Why don’t I have one?…
Maribel Verdú as Luisa Cortés
If at first this (Mexican) movie can seems an Erotic movie, it is much more than that. You can start suspecting that if you notice the classification as a Drama movie, and later, when you start wondering why an erotic movie would have a 7.7 classification at IMDB.
No, not because of the boobies (there aren’t that many) or the cunts (not so many, too). But because of the message the movie passes. You won’t understand it fully until the end (or at least, I did not). The way the narrator interrupts the movie to say something, and the fact that he doesn’t say, always, relevant things to the movie, makes it kind of harder to understand the real reason for the way the movie rolls.
If you do not get easily shocked with sex talk, and some nudity, then probably you will like to watch the movie and, and the end, it will make you think about (yours) live.
Katie Holmes and Christiane Bale
I leave to the readers to find an excuse why I chose this specific picture. In any case, and although I am not a big fan of Batman, this movie was interesting, as it is not the usual super hero movie, fighting a criminal, but some more, creating a character. And that is always interesting to observe.
Regarding the movie, not much to say. Just that I am waiting for the new Batman Lego sets. There are some good promises.
Other than that, I take the occasion to talk about super-heroes. Does they need to be extra-terrestrial (like Superman or Thor), bitten (like Spiderman), a scientific experiment (like Captain America or HULK), to have a genetic property (like all X-man superheroes) or… to be rich (like Ironman or Batman). I do not know any poor superhero. At least I do not remember any. And no, Robbin Hood is not a Superhero.
U.S.S. Enterprise @ Star Trek Into Darkness
I always loved this ship and always wondered how such a big thing and completely non aerodynamic could fly. Anyway, this time I got to know that they use nuclear power. Damn. You could do better, J. J. Abrams.
When watching a science fiction movie you need to be prepared for non-logical things. I can be prepared for ships flying, warp speed, ultra weapons, radiation, et al., but I can not be prepared for a Vulcan to fall in the back of a ship, right in front of the thrusters, and not being toasted.
Other than that, the story is mostly the usual, a bad guy (curiously Benedict Cumberbatch uses a gabardine both in this movie and in Sherlock series… it seems it is his common uniform), a guy that seems to be good but is also a bad guy, a hero almost dying and getting back to life… so, the usual.
What can I say more? I do not like the new Spock. And I am happy there are still standard feminine lingerie in the future. Very happy.
Alice Eve @ Star Trek Into Darkness
Stana Katic @ Castle
One more Season of Castle just ended. It was a good season, with good stories. The latest episode is great as well, with lots of laughs. I am just sorry they find so tragic finals for Season finales. You know, there are more methods to get our attention. You just don’t need to kill one of the characters each time a season ends. Oh, sorry for the spoiler. My bad. Now, some months to wait for the story continuation. Probably a good time to go put other series up to date.
