I know I should not watch more series. But I was tempted. Just by the name. Yeah. Under the Dome. A lot it can mean. Well, watched the pilot episode just for the kicks, and try to understand how cool it could get. At first it was mostly confused, and it seems it continues that way, for now. But the effects, the gore (check above) and Rachelle Lefevre was enough, for now, to make me wanting to watch the second one.
So, for now, will probably watch the second episode as well. Then, who knows if I’ll watch any more of them.
Curiously, and unlike other reviews, I’ll start saying I head very bad about this movie. I didn’t even know it won any Oscar. Just noticed it after watching it, and looking into IMDB about its classification.
Yes, story is crap. Scenarios are mostly crap (everywhere CGI, too much CGI). But something must be given credit: to pay two actors, have no real scenarios, I expect it to be mostly cheap. But probably not, as I am not sure how cheap are CGI nowadays.
Other than that, Sandra Bullock is still hot. Of course she is getting old, but still has it. In the other hand, Clooney seems to be always equal to himself. But in this movie he seems more like a clown than an astronaut. Really. That dream scene is just pathetic. He seems to be smiling always. And that smile didn’t relate to what he was saying. Probably he was having fun during the recordings, or just smiling on how imbecile was that scene.
If you ask me what I liked on this movie, it was the sound. Just great. Great to sense the silence of space. Great to sense the noisy silence of water.
A suggestion by a friend. I confess I was not expecting this. And if you did not watch this movie, you should stop here and find it somewhere. After reading the rest of the post the movie will not have all the feeling it should.
More than an action movie or a comedy (it is both of them), this is a drama. So, do not expect the usual superhero approach. Also, do not expect it to be a standard Hollywood movie. You know, at the end the main character will be dead. So, no, not that usual in Hollywood. And in fact, it isn’t, as it seems to be produced in Canada.
I will not tell the story, so probably the rest of the post will not make any sense if you did not watch it. But anyway… the main message is that any of us can stand to make a difference. Unfortunately, not all can do it like the main characters, and that is good, or a lot of us would be dead already. But in any case, each of us is a super hero, even if you do not wear a cape (also, capes are for flying).
Other than that, loved the puns with “DefenDOG” and “DefenDOOR”. I am just sad they did not keep it up to the limit. It would have been fun.
I confess I am not sure why I continue watching this show. Not really because of the girls, because the ones that do top-less or complete nudes are not really that cute. Not really because of the main story, as it is not that interesting. Probably because of the complete madness of actions of the characters. Probably. Not sure if I’ll continue through season 5, but probably. Ah, also, the episodes are quite small, from 25 to 30 minutes, and that is cool.
The movie is not bad. I feel bad because I can’t understand Korean (I hope it is in Korean) and I feel like the English subtitles are not up to the movie quality. Also, and please, do not misinterpret me, but I can’t really distinguish much Asian faces. Not sure why, but maybe because my brain is trained to distinguish occidental faces, and it somehow feels like Asian faces are much alike. So, I did have some trouble in the beginning to distinguish the characters and, during that time, I might got confused with the Plot.
Nevertheless, I read some comments on this movie and they just got to the same conclusion I had, so probably I was able to understand the relevant parts of the plot.
The movie has a nice atmosphere, with a scent of eroticism from time to time. But, just like someone commented at IMDB, no, this is not an erotic movie.
Beware, spoilers ahead.
The plot is mostly from a Drama that could be easily titled “The Game of the Throne”. With the dead of the king (couldn’t understand how natural it was), and without any legitimate hair, his mother and his wife fight for the throne. And they are up to anything for that. Up to killing!
I am not properly a fan either of Woody Allen as an actor or as a producer or director. But a comedy with two cute girls (yeah, although Mira Sorvino is more eye catching, Helena Bonham Carter is beautiful too) led me to watch the movie.
I confess that the part that I liked more is the Greek Chorus (see above in the picture). It is like the main character’s conscience. Their sing and choreography are just great. Very good!
The story.. meh, not that as a story itself. Watchable.
The third season of Girls is just like the others. The story continues, showing four girls dealing with their loves, sex, drugs, jobs. I am not sure why I still watch this show. Probably because I like Marnie (see above). Unfortunately the only girl making top-less during this season is Hannah, the less interesting one. At least for me.
Given it has 20 minutes episodes, it is good to watch when you do not have time for any other, like Castle or Game of Thrones, and when you are up to date in other 20 minutes series, like The Big Bang Theory or Modern Family.
Sorry for this not interesting post, but there wasn’t really anything relevant to say about it.
I am a Fast and Furious fan, and a somewhat retired Need for Speed player. I had fear regarding this movie, trying to, at first, mimic the game, and at last, compete with Fast and Furious. I must admit I was wrong. The movie is very enjoyable and somewhat unpredictable in some situations. At some extend it is the usual Hollywood movie, but in some other situations, it is not. I do not want to give spoilers, as this is a quite recent movie, but I must say that the Need for Speed (game) imitation is only at the end, and not that bad.
If you like cars, velocity and dangerous stunts, then this movie is for you. There are a couple comedy situations (as the one above) and a little drama too. So, a kind of complete movie.
If there is a sequel, I will be watching it. Voted 8 in 10 at IMDB.
A set of three small (erotic) stories by three different directors. First, “The Hand”, by Kar Wai Wong. An interesting story, although it is not that erotic. It is mostly a Drama. Then, “Equilibrium”, by Steven Soderbergh is a little more erotic, but instead we have a Comedy. The story is great. I voted 7 in 10 for the set, but if it was only for Soderbergh story I might vote higher. In this story there is a small view of a woman nude (the first does not contain any, and can still be erotic). Finally, “The Dangerous Thread of Things” by Michelangelo Antonioni is a strange story. Well, sorry, I can not find a story on this. At least not one with a beginning and an end. Probably I was distracted by the girls and boobs, and missed some detail. But I think that directing a movie is, first of all, telling a story, and if you at the end are unable to tell any, then the movie is shit. Yes, Luisa Ranieri is sexy and hot. But that does not make this an interesting movie. So, probably the more erotic, because of the nudes, but the less interesting one.
If at first this (Mexican) movie can seems an Erotic movie, it is much more than that. You can start suspecting that if you notice the classification as a Drama movie, and later, when you start wondering why an erotic movie would have a 7.7 classification at IMDB.
No, not because of the boobies (there aren’t that many) or the cunts (not so many, too). But because of the message the movie passes. You won’t understand it fully until the end (or at least, I did not). The way the narrator interrupts the movie to say something, and the fact that he doesn’t say, always, relevant things to the movie, makes it kind of harder to understand the real reason for the way the movie rolls.
If you do not get easily shocked with sex talk, and some nudity, then probably you will like to watch the movie and, and the end, it will make you think about (yours) live.
