Holmes and Watson

As a friend once told me, this series can be a little dumb. And an intelligent person like Sherlock using Windows 8 isn’t much plausible, too. But the series is good, and the Finale was interesting. The reinterpretation of the old Sherlock by Sir Conan Doyle is interesting, with a new Watson and a new Moriarty. In the expectation of a next season. And for me to say that to a series without jumping boobs, means it is good

Kate Beckett and Richard Casltle

One more season is over. It seems that every season that comes passes faster, although they have the same number of episodes. Well, this season is different from the previous ones because this time we have Kate and Castle together, in a relationship. It is also different because… and spoilers follow… this season doesn’t end with Kate almost dead. Well, kind of.

The crimes are not very different from previous seasons. We just had the luck to know Castle father, and a few more steps on the Kate’s mother assassination.

Now, we are waiting for the next season, wondering what kind of direction it will take. Whatever comes, here I am to watch.

Katharine McPhee @ Smash

This is not the typical series that I watch. Not that much sex, no action, not really humor, not horror. Two girls fighting for the Marlin role in a Broadway musical. OK, there are girls, and that usually is enough for me. But I also like the the story: how things are done for a musical, with nice songs (some of them original) and a good story. Probably most would argue this is a typical series for woman, but you know what, I am enjoying it pretty much. But then, in the old days I liked to watch the Love Boat, and it wasn’t only because of the girls in bikini.

Milla Jovovich @ Resident Evil: Retribution

Fifth movie from the series. Ten years after the first movie. Some more from the original game. And Milla Jovovich still in good shape (as you can check above). In fact I chose that image because I found the.. erm.. dress, quite interesting.

Regarding the movie, no big story. Nevertheless, the small part of the big Resident Evil story that this movie fills, is told in a compelling way. Of course there are some faults on the story, and being it sci-fi, some other details that are not faults by themselves, but that you need to agree with, or the movie wouldn’t be possible.

Anyway, and sorry for the little spoiler, I just loved to watch the bullets getting disposed from Rain (Michelle Rodriguez) by their fingers. Just cool.

And of course, do not expect this to be the last from the series. It will continue. You can check a new entry in IMDB, but also, you can watch this fifth movie, and you’ll understand it couldn’t end this way.

A fun series to watch, but doesn’t bring any real novelty regarding the first season. Probably I should say, more of the same. But if the same was good, good…

American Reunion

More of the same. Different jokes, new boobs, still focused on sex. But a fun movie. And if it wasn’t for the movie… Oh, my God.

If you like other American Pie movies, worth watching. Namely, if you watched them earlier so you can check some references to previous movies. I could detect a couple, but probably there are more. If not, well, it is a pair of fun hours.

Modern Family – Mother’s Day

Modern Family second season is a little better than the first season, but not much different. What I miss in this series is continuity. Not requesting a complex story that continues every episode, like Smash, or Game of Thrones, but a global story that ties episodes together (like Castle, Nikita or the good old House). In this season there are some episodes with a sequence (regarding Manny’s dog), some episodes that refer to previous ones (like Valentines day, or the last from the season, that visits a set of previous episodes).

But, the thing I like most is Glória (Sofia Vergara) and the sound similarities: Saxophone vs Sexy Phone, Baby Cheeses vs Baby Jesus. Just great.

Men in Black 3

My first comment after finishing this movie was meh… it is not truly bad, but it isn’t good either. There are some interesting scenes, and some humor, but the main story is too simple (even with that drama bit). The better scenes are in the beginning.. both the one I chose to post above (easy to notice why, I think) and other in a Chinese restaurant. The remaining movie isn’t that fun, just with some sporadic jokes. Voted 6 in 10 @ imdb.

Weird, very weird. First, I should note that although I hear a lot about Hannibal Lecter, I never read or saw any story on him, and therefore, I was kind of lost. After a quick visit to wikipedia things got clearer. This probably shows that the first episode is not that good as it might be, as people new to the Lecter story might end watching the episode, and be kind of lost.

Nevertheless, I am interested to see next episodes, even with the “viewer discretion advised” message.

Andrea Osvárt @ Transporter: The Series

There aren’t much reasons to watch this series, but the girls are one of them. Not just Andrea Osvárt, that I post here, but lot of other girls appear around.

Regarding this series: sequels are a problem. If movie sequels are a problem (you know Shrek 3 will never be as good as the first Shrek movie), sequels that change the media (from TV series to films, or vice-versa) make things harder. You know, the Mission Impossible films will never be as good as the series, the same happened with the A-Team movie. The other way around doesn’t work as well, and this series is one example of it.

Jason Statham can not be imitated. This transporter seems to be smiling all the time. The main story (or each episode series) are not good. There are, even, repeated scenes from episode to episode. Then, are they trying to imitate Transporter, or Knight Rider? Yeah, transporter has a truck workshop. And the last episode, is mostly Max Payne action.

Ah, regarding action, not real. The guy wins every fight with the minor effort. He doesn’t even sweat.

But then, if you know all this and still like some fight choreography, and some girls, and boobies, and boobs and girls, the series isn’t that bad.
