For the sake of completeness, I tried VLC yet again. This time I selected the Hardware-Acceleration option. Now it can render a full image... probably 2 or 3 per second. Still unacceptable.

As expected, others did this before. For instance, check http://davidbau.com/reversi/. Mine has some nicer things, this has some others. But my goal wasn't to make something new, just to try out the minimax algorithm.

My experience(In Ubuntu with Firefox 9.0.1 )is this:
When playing movies, the video displays correctly in-browser.
When I try to download a movie, the audio starts to play but nothing else happens on the page.

I remember, a long time ago having to use a script to download trailers from Apple Trailers, because they did some discriminating based on the User-Agent. I thought that time had passed... maybe not.

There is one other inconsistency that I noted in GitHub. For my 'Your Repositories' section at https://github.com/, it displays 47 as the repository count. However, at https://github.com/alanhaggai it displays 45 as the repository count.

Yes, it can be used to make and answer phone calls, and the SMS system is almost usable. But for that I could buy a 20Eur mobile phone...
