Girls (season 2)
Girls, sex, drugs, love, hate, money, job, sex, more girls, more sex, and should be able to explain what the series and this season is about. The usual, the story of four girl friends (that from time to time forget the friendship) that do sex, have boy friends, change boy friends, do casual sex, change boy friends, try drugs, change boy friends, do some more sex, lose the job, get a job, lose the job again.
I can’t say I love this series, but it is interesting to watch. Not just because there is not that much censure, but because it reminds me of some life problems.
Chloe Bennet @ Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Shit! This is boring to write. S.H.I.E.L.D. Gah!
Now, kidding aside, the series is nothing brilliant for now (first episode). I am interested in watching it for the Marvel seal. I hope it gets better. Other than that, a lot of technology, some super-powers and cute girls. Namely this Chloe Bennet is just… beautiful. So, hope to have a better understanding of the quality of the series later.
Sherlock Holmes (2009)
Yep, a screenshot of a bridge for the Sherlock Holmes movie. Why? I just love this industrial revolution scenario. Oh, and in school I drawn a lot of bridges under construction. Not sure why my teacher did not like it.
Anyway, that is a relevant part of the movie, but not (usually) the reason why you watch a movie. First, you have Iron Man… erm.. Sherlock Holmes that is fun, unlike the usual boring ones. This time Watson is the very boring guy. The story is acceptable. No big mysteries. Just the deductions are nice. Not excessive clever, just observation, mostly.
But there is a scene where I almost choke without air, laughing out loud and almost rolling on the floor Yeah, if you watched it, you guessed, the fight between Sherlock and that French dude, each one asking for some seconds, and the French dude flying with electric shocks. LOL!
The scientific dildo
The usual review to the pilot/first episode from a new series. Yeah, I have too many series to watch, more the old ones I would like to review. Whatever. The worst that can happen is to die before having the time to watch them all.
But back to Masters of Sex, the history of Doc. Masters, a fertility expert that decides to learn the details of conception right when the parents do sex, in an epoch were sexology wasn’t anything known. The history goes with the preparation of the project, and getting volunteers to… have sex, while they are watched. In parallel, you will get love/hate/sex stories between the main characters.
My main complain at the moment is the length of the episodes. More than an hour is too much for a series episode. That’s one of the reasons I like some other like Modern Family or The Big Bang Theory.
Just in time for Season 5 that started a couple days ago. This season did not bring anything really new. I was expecting the Gloria being pregnant would make the series go in some other direction, but it did not happen. In fact, it were few the episodes related to that fact. Nevertheless, there are some good jokes, and it seems the stupid jokes that were very usual in the first seasons are mostly lost. Expecting the next season.
Crazy like hell. I end up without any good idea of what is this movie about. I read some comments in the Internets, but I’m mostly in the same position as before. You might ask why I watched it, and I might not be able to explain.
Point taken, although the check of virginity in the Miss Universe competition can be exaggerated, more and more, candidates should be carefully examined and any concurrent with any plastic surgery should be put aside. Yeah, it can be drastic, but otherwise we are electing the Miss Rich Universe.
Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco
I really like this series. No, not just because Kaley Cuoco is very cute, but because I identify myself with this bunch of geeks. With most of them at once. Like Sheldon, I feel envy with people smarter than myself (yeah, there are lot of people smarter and more intelligent than me, of course), like Leonard I do not have luck with girls, like Raj I do not know how to talk with girls and like Howard… or probably not.
Anyway, being a sitcom with about 20 minutes of show is great. Good to watch mostly at any time. And it is a lot fun.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Not a bad movie. Rated 8 in 10. The story is not anything transcendent, but the kid actors are pretty good (better than the adult ones). The movie is fun from beginning, no boring intervals, making it a pleasure to watch from beginning to end. The cartoon effects that appear from time to time are very nice, giving the movie a nice touch. I know it is a family movie, but I enjoyed it.
The Muppets (2011)
I think it is relevant to make something clear: I am not a Muppets fan. I know Kermit (Cocas for the Portuguese people), I think Miss Piggy is cute, but I am not properly a fan for the Muppets show. Also, I am not fan of dramas. Yeah, IMDB says it is a Comedy, a Musical. Yeah, Musical it is. But it is a Drama. There are two or three jokes in more than 100 minutes of movie. The rest is just plain Drama.
As a side note, Amy Adams is just cute. That is why I chose this screenshot, with these subtitles… how can one just forget about her?
The special effects are more advanced than in the previous Ghost Rider movie, but they aren’t better. And the way the movie was recorded, in a way that seems to add dynamic, sucks. At least, I did not like. The story is.. meh… nothing special, and with lots of flaws. And, at the end, it is not clear what is the status of Ghost Rider.
Talking about girls, one do not just simply replace Eva Mendes. And one do not just replace Eva Mendes by some Violante Placido. She has a nice pair of eyes… but Eva Mendes has.. erm.. two great pairs, not just eyes.
