Tokyo Drift PosterAnother movie I saw without seeing the first two of the serie. I think I didn't lost much of the movie by that, maybe just some joke at the end of the movie. It is a thriller and action movie, with lot of cars, speed and girls. This all together makes it a nice movie to watch.

Looking inside to the movie, I would criticize specially the choice of the main actor. Sean Boswell, the main character, should be not more than 18 years old, and Lucas Black, the actor, is 24 (and, in fact, I would say he would be older).
The story is the usual, do not expect much of it, but I think you will not be expecting much when going to see this kind of movie.

ice age 2 posterYesterday was time to see the sequel of Ice Age. I think it is not as dramatic as the first one (and that's good, it is suppoed to be a funny movie) and includes a lot more jokes. True that many of them are old jokes, but they still make us smile. In fact, one of the oldest jokes (and that I was really waiting for) make me laugh out loud (oops). If you saw the movie... roasted chicken might give you an idea about that joke.

I really liked it. It was fun. People said it was worst than the first one, but I really do not think so. Also, our squirrel friend now appears for more time. And that's funny...

The 200 comments barrier was broken. Thanks to my readers.

Bad News: Sweden is out of the FIFA World Cup. We will not really miss the team... you know...

We will really miss the beautiful girls watching the games...

The good thing is Brazil is not out yet... and if Germany gets hot it will be really nice... cough... cough...

Probably you saw this before, but I just saw it today and... I hope Apple sees it too!

For those who now Portuguese should be wondering why I will talk about shoes. Yeah, 'sapatos' is the Portuguese word for shoes. Now, why am I posting this? Did I buy a new pair? No, not that. I just found a shoe-shop here in Oslo named 'Sapatos' and I found that funny. I wonder what it would feel to find a shop in Portugal named 'Shoes'...

a320I would like to know who's fault for such little space between chairs in the Airbus 320. It can be Airbus fault and can be TAP fault. I think I flight before on other Airbus 320 and that they were not so bad, so it should be TAP fault.

After more than four hours without a chance to move my legs I didn't know how to walk again! I hope there are a few number of passenger on the return flight, so I can put the legs aside.

Yesterday I had to leave home at 4 AM to get to the Airport at 5 AM to take the plane from Oporto at 6 AM to Lisbon. 7 AM at Lisbon, waiting for the plane to Oslo at 9 AM. Then, TAP likes to cheat os us, and the supposed to be direct flight from Lisbon to Oslo is not so direct. It stops in Denmark (Copenhagen). We need to exit the plane with all our things, wait in a room for about 30 minutes, and get in again, to the same plane, same place. Got at 4:30 PM at Oslo (local time). Take the BUS to Oslo, got in the Hotel about 6 PM. Good it was Sunny, and Hot. Lots of girls riding bikes. Nice.

Unfortunately, today is raining.

Today Portugal won the second game on the World Cup, this time against Iran. Now, the next game is Wednesday. Unfortunately, I'll be flying from Oslo back to Portugal. Doesn't TAP have possibility to show the game during flight?

This is an advertisement to a Portuguese beer. I really do not like beer, but I like this advertisement music. I can't find anybody that knows the music. Can you help me identifying it?

The Transporter Yesterday I saw "The Transporter", the first of the serie of (yet) two movies. I know normally people see first things first, but in this case it was not the case. Now, I know I missed an interesting resemblance in the second from the first, right in the beginning of the movie, when he goes to the school take the child.

Now, back to the movie: it is an enjoyable action movie. Lots of fights, a japanese girl (could be better), some speed (could be a lot better) and a funny french cop. A final question: weren't there TWO trucks?

This is the 300th entry on this blog. So, I though it would be nice to have something new on the blog. During the time for Eurovision much was said about Lordi (the winner) and, specially in Portugal, about NonStop (the girls representing Portugal). It is typical for Portugal (not every year, but many of them) to do a "mini Eurovision" with some musics, to choose the one to represent Portugal.

The one I show below is one of them. The jury on the program put it on the last place. After public votes by SMS, it raised to the first places. Tell me it wouldn't be better than those four girls just showing their legs...

This is why Brasil wins all world cups. No, not because they have lovely girls supporting them, but because other players can't concentrate on the game.

Brasil

mcdonaldsNot that I really like McDonalds food. I eat it (specially hamburgers) but just in case I don't have anything better (or in case some friend is really interested). In the other hand, I must say that McDonalds is my international restaurant. If you go to a country you do not know, and specially, if they do not talk good English, McDonalds is always a good choice. Is easy to point and choose something, and you know (more or less) what to expect from it.

When good and bad news come together what is the one that changes your mood? Well, these are specific good and bad news, but the bad is that an article I submitted to SEPLN conference was rejected. The good is that an article I submitted to SEPLN conference was accepted.

Well, in this case the good news won! After receiving the two news at the same time I was happy!

Today is the first game of Portugal at FIFA World Cup, 2006. I should support them. But, in fact, I think we should support them like "nuestros hermanos":

This year I've submitted two talks for YAPC::EU (this year held in Birmingham) and both were accepted. Hurray. Now the only problem is that I need to prepare them. Here are the talk abstracts sent to the organization:
  • Parsing in Perl: A quick overview of the main used tools for parsers generation in Perl. How easy they are to use, and how efficient they are. Will focuses at least Parse::RecDescent, YAPP+Perl for simplicity and YAPP+Flex for efficiency.
  • AJAX with Perl: AJAX - Assynchronous Javascript And XML. Using a set of technologies that have been around for some years, with a little bit of Javascript knowledge and a tiny bit of experience with CGI scripts, this talk will show you how to get things working with some practical examples.

If you want to start your day in a good mood, make your tire blow. After 15 minutes changing it you will be a lot better: dirty, tired, and lucky that it was not raining!

We are in the beginning of June, in the beginning of the Hot time here in Portugal. We are in the second week with more than 30 degrees. And, we have already big fires in the forest. Now, what I would like to ask is: in other coutries, forest fires are that common?

I think she was really surprised. She says she liked the surprise, I hope that's true. But, more than that, I hope it can be useful.

This weekend was Transformers oriented. With the hot weather the desire to work is less than few, so I took the time to see Transformers cartoons. It was fun... I would say I saw about 10 episodes of Transformers. I realy like these cartoons. Ok, they are for children, but very nice :)

This time, sent by postal mail, to a friend I just know virtually. Although she was with a lot of curiosity about what was the surprise, now it's me who is with a lot of curiosity about her reaction. I'll need to know about her reaction tomorow by her, or probably later by the friend I asked to deliver the surprise... I love to make surprises.

Thanks to a group I help, preparing a magazine, and giving some courses ofered me today the second part of the second season of the Transformers, as well as the third and fourth seasons pack. Thank you!

This week is being a great week. Two girl hugs on thursday, and today this extraordinary hug from Procyon. Although I need to remember the others in my mind, this one is easier to remind, just looking at it!

hug

Thanks, Procyon!
