Higher Order Perl Book
This is the long awaited book by Mark Dominus. A real perl book for real perl programmers. It is a Morgan Kaufman edition, and very soon available on stores (unfortunately, you can already buy it from http://www.mkp.com if you are on Canada or USA, but not in Europe).

The important is: it is out. And I hope to have a copy in my hand in the really near future. Thanks for writing it, Mark!

Yeah. They don't know what they do. That's a woman sign at the left of the door. That's a man inside. I think I don't need to say more.

I don't know if I posted before about this, but I am a LEGO fan. I really like to play with them. Specially those technic ones.

Meanwhile, I bought a city set: the XXL Crane. It is not as good as I expected, mainly because I was expecting some features only available on Technic sets.

I never wrote an entry on this blog saying that Gimp rockz because everybody knows. Now, I am using Inkscape a lot for preparing a poster and some other material for YAPC::EU::2005. It rockz, too! It is not so stable as Gimp, but it does his job, and a very good job.

So, if you want to do design under Linux it is every time easier. You have gimp for raster images, inkscape for vectorial ones, and OpenClipart for clipart.
